Esteemed Legislator Recognition Event Each year, the Graduate Professional Council recognizes state legislators who have shown a commitment to improving the graduate and professional student experience at the University of Missouri. These legislators have worked to increase higher education funding, for legislative platform issues of The Associated Students of the University of Missouri, and for other legislation that benefits current and former graduate and professional students.

The GPC Gold Chalk Awards are designed to recognize professors who have made significant contributions to the education and training of graduate and professional students. Awards will be presented at the annual Graduate Awards Banquet. For more information, please see the Gold Chalk Award page.

Each month, the GPC General Assembly provides funding to events across campus that benefit graduate and professional students. By increasing the visibility of these funding opportunities, GPC has set a record for both the number of organizations funded and the amount of funding provided. For more information, please see the Group Funding page.

GPC has hosted RCAF for more than 30 years as a way for students to showcase research or creative activities, and gain experience discussing their work. Professors from across the state and within the MU community rate and give feedback on student presentations, with cash prizes available for exceptional presentations. For more information, please see the main RCAF page.

Established in 1994 by GPC, Rollins Society recognizes graduate and professional students who have significantly advanced the well-being of self-defined communities beyond the scope of their academic work. The society taps a select group of graduate and professional students whose public service affirms the society’s watchwords of Duty, Faithfulness, and Leadership. For more information, please see the Rollins Society page.

GPC is hard at work providing valuable academic services to graduate and professional students, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to have a good time. Each month, GPC offers a social event to help ease the stress of student life. Events ranged from our annual Welcome (Back) party to our inaugural GPC Trivia Night to our family friendly afternoons at Perche Creek, where students and families played mini-golf, rode go-karts, and took a swing in the batting cages. For a list of events, please see the GPC Calendar.

Each year, GPC distributes more than $50,000 in travel awards to individuals traveling to conferences to present their work. To learn how to apply for these awards, visit Travel Awards
